Pall Mall Barbers
Heritage barbering, reimagined for ecommerce
I’m pleased to welcome Pall Mall Barbers to the studio. Established in London in 1896, they bring more than a century of barbering heritage to the project, with a reputation built around craft, service and a very particular understanding of men’s grooming. It’s exactly the kind of business I enjoy working with: established, full of character and with a genuine story behind it.
We’ll be working together to develop their ecommerce experience on Shopify, creating a stronger home for a growing range of grooming products whilst preserving what makes the brand distinctive. The ambition is to translate the knowledge and personal service you’d expect in the barber’s chair into the online experience, helping customers discover the right products for their hair, scalp and routine.
A fascinating commercial and creative challenge, and one I’m very pleased to have in the studio.

Tang & Co
Ongoing Partnership
I’ve been supporting Tang & Co with the technical side of their Shopify store, helping keep the ecommerce operation running smoothly as the business develops. The work has included ongoing theme updates, troubleshooting and improvements, alongside stepping in when more unusual technical problems arise. It’s less about a single redesign and more about providing experienced Shopify support when the business needs it.
More recently, that support has extended beyond the website and into physical retail, helping Tang & Co set up Shopify POS for their pop-up store and connect the online and in-person sides of the business. It’s a good example of how I increasingly work with established Shopify businesses: understanding what they’re trying to achieve, solving the technical problems that get in the way and making sure the technology supports the business rather than dictating how it operates.

Atom Label
Shopify Wholesale Audit
I’ve recently started working with Atom Label, an independent British womenswear brand founded by Jo Lackenby in 2004. Designed in Yorkshire, the collection centres around distinctive dresses, jumpsuits and gowns made for occasions when you want to make an entrance. After nearly two decades supplying fashion businesses, Atom moved into direct-to-consumer ecommerce in 2021, creating an interesting business with established product knowledge behind a relatively young online retail operation.
My initial work has focused on improving the Shopify store from a commercial perspective: simplifying the customer journey, strengthening product pages and making it easier for customers to discover and buy the collection without stripping away the personality of the brand. We’re now looking beyond the storefront too, exploring how Shopify can better support Atom’s established wholesale business alongside its growing direct-to-consumer operation. It’s exactly the sort of work I enjoy: looking at the business as a whole, then working out where design, ecommerce and better systems can make a meaningful difference.

CleanCo Cocktails
New Product Packaging Design
New branding and can design work for CleanCo’s latest alcohol-free cocktail range is now available for order. The launch includes Clean Margarita, Clean G&T, Clean Italian Spritz and Clean Mojito. The project focused on balancing stronger shelf presence with a cleaner and more premium visual language across the range.
Alcohol-free products have matured significantly as a category over the last few years and increasingly need to compete on brand and experience rather than simply functionality. Great to see the new range now moving into market.

Nordic Life
New Shopify Commercial Review
A new Shopify Commercial Review project has started with Nordic Life. The focus is less about redesigning for the sake of it and more about improving how the business sells online. Reviewing collection structure, product presentation, customer flow and overall commercial clarity across the storefront. The aim is to help the site behave more like a specialist retail experience rather than a catalogue of products. Strong brands in niche markets often don’t need louder marketing. They need clearer thinking and better customer pathways. Initial recommendations and implementation work are now underway.

All Angels
Shopify Support for English Wine Producers
A new Shopify development partnership has started with All Angels, an English wine producer focused on premium sparkling wines. The work centres around Shopify support and refinement as the brand continues to develop its ecommerce presence. English wine has evolved significantly over the last decade, with many producers now competing comfortably alongside established international names. The challenge online is presenting that quality and confidence properly through the customer experience. Looking forward to supporting the next stage of growth and development for the brand.
beyond client work
Creativity sits at the heart of everything I do.
Alongside client work, I maintain an active art and printmaking practice that continually influences how I think about composition, storytelling, texture and visual identity.
That crossover between art, design and commerce is a fundamental part of The Rik Barwick Studio.
