Rik barwick.
more than just a title.
I don’t have a title. I am not just a UX Designer, UI Designer, or Information Architect. I am simply me; Rik Barwick – an artist, graphic designer, Shopify expert, and more, proudly based on a hill in Suffolk. For over 20 years, I’ve worked with clients of all shapes and sizes, injecting creativity into every project I touch.
I’ve designed brands and websites for clients all over the world, including launching massive community games for Electronic Arts and redefining an ordering platform for GlaxoSmithKline. But it doesn’t stop there. I’ve also helped small businesses like a friend’s gazebo store earn thousands of pounds on Shopify. My work even contributes to the DNA of HSBC’s look and feel.
These experiences, along with my own personal journey, have shaped my approach to my work. I strive to think holistically about projects, considering the client, their customers, and the results we’re trying to achieve. And I never stop asking those “annoying” questions. That’s what sets me apart.

My Story
My story starts with a kid who had business ideas. From becoming a “Professional Air-fix Model Builder” to pitching The Good Pub Guide Website at 18, my entrepreneurial spirit was never far from the surface. I studied Graphic Design at West Suffolk College and then at The Surrey Institute of Art & Design (Now The UCA, Epsom). I fell in love with combining traditional design theory with modern practices, which you can see reflected in my work.
During the lockdown, I embraced my identity as an artist as well as a designer, selling my original work, in particular, relief prints, to customers across the globe. Today, I design brands, websites, and everything in-between, and I am on a mission to infuse more art into my work. My ultimate ambition is to retire as a full-time artist, dedicated to creating meaningful and captivating pieces that inspire and touch people’s lives.
My Mission
Iam on a personal mission to not only create a quantifiable impact on my clients’ businesses through beautiful, thoughtful design but also to creatively enrich the lives of those I meet along the way. Whether it’s through coaching or my art and printmaking work, I want to make a difference.
